After studying English-Japanese translation and interpreting at a vocational school, I became interested in a large variety of information technology careers. I applied for this position to achieve my long-term career success as a bilingual network engineer.
I wasn't quite sure if I would be able to complete the basic networking and on-the-job training sessions, since I only had limited knowledge of information technologies at that time. At the beginning, I was overwhelmed by a large amount of information to learn, so I kept myself busy studying new information and technical terms every day. Upon completion of the training, I was able to join the Global ICT Team thanks to the guidance and support of my senior colleagues. I still feel very grateful for the way they always answered any questions I had in a sincere manner.
My job is to meet the needs of our clients who are having problems with their network. In some cases, network failure can have a significant impact on their businesses. Troubleshooting network problems can be very time-consuming and challenging, words of appreciation from the clients make all the effort worthwhile at the end.
The network operations center (NOC) operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so the NOC team members work both day and night shifts. Getting used to working at night, as well as managing physical health conditions is an integral part of this job. Cybernation's corporate culture allows us to express our opinions freely, respect and accept other people's opinions, and experience the benefits of having a diverse workforce made up of people of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds. The performance-based promotion system is another advantage as it offers leadership opportunities to all team members.
This job is suitable for people who enjoy talking to people since the main responsibilities are to handle client calls and communicate effectively with other NOC team members. There is great deal of information to learn during the training, but you will be able to overcome any obstacles as long as you maintain your keen interest in information technologies and curiosity for learning new things.
I used to work as a translation coordinator at a translation company, but I left the job to gain specialized knowledge in my new career path. I received intensive training at an IT school for one month after joining Cybernation, and moved on to the on-the-job training that provided sufficient support that I needed.
For the first two and half years, I was assigned to provide the global network operations and maintenance services. I am currently assisting our clients in the implementation of cloud services, with the goal of becoming a global project manager. My past work experiences have helped me understand English documents and releases of the latest technologies accurately, and handle inquiries from the global clients effectively and efficiently. I am enjoying my opportunity to witness the evolving information technologies, which has been a rewarding experience for me. I feel discouraged when I fail at something regardless of my effort, but I consider this a perfect opportunity for growth and continue doing my best at work.
Cybernation's corporate culture promotes employee development based on the philosophy of "Employee growth equals business growth". The company pays for the cost of certification exams and provide a bonus for passing the exams, which is a great motivating factor for me. They also have a financial assistance program to pay for certification courses for qualified employees. Thanks to the program, I was able to take online courses for a bookkeeper certification.
There are recreational group activities that encourage open communication among the employees working on different projects. Cybernation offers an excellent workplace for anyone who is willing to grow personally and professionally and actively take initiatives at all times.
I used to work in the restaurant service industry. I applied for this position to improve my English-speaking ability and challenge myself in the IT field. I was also attracted to Cybernation's support system offering training opportunities to the candidates without any experience. The instructors and senior colleagues helped me learn the very basics of networking during the training sessions so that even I, who had little knowledge of IT, could understand without difficulty.
Since technologies and information are constantly changing in this industry, I have to put a lot of effort into studying to stay updated. When I learn new things using my bilingual ability or solve problems on my own, I feel very proud of my professional growth.
Cybernation regularly hosts events and workshops for the employees. At first, I was amazed at the friendly relationships among the employees and open communication between the employees and the managers. Everyone has some sort of international experience and some have different nationalities. They are all unique and enthusiastic about their work. The company also offers certification bonuses, which help me stay motivated and focused on achieving my goals. If you love to talk to people and have a strong desire to learn and continuously improve yourself, Cybernation is the right company for you.
