Job Title
Bilingual network operation center engineer
Job Descriptions
Provides network monitoring and maintenance services to the clients’ overseas subsidiary/affiliate offices from a network operation center of a major telecom carrier
  • Handles inbound and outbound client calls and emails regarding network solution services in English and Japanese
  • Handles inbound and outbound client calls and emails regarding network troubleshooting mainly in Japanese
  • Contacts and requests local telecom carriers to provide network troubleshooting services in English
Works in shifts (one night shift a week) to cover 24/7/365 operations

Work experience
  • Those who want to learn ICT, especially network skills, or want to provide support services. If you have no experience in networking, you can still apply for this position. Recent college graduates who graduated within the last two years with study abroad experience or Japanese nationals who took part of their education outside Japan (“kikokushijo”) are encouraged to apply.
  • One or more years of work experience using English-speaking ability or networking knowledge equivalent to the Cisco CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification is preferred, but not required.
Conditions Certifications
  • Native-level fluency in Japanese and business-level fluency in English
  • Ability to handle calls efficiently in Japanese
  • TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) score of 700 or higher
Examination
  • Properly answer in Japanese (confirm by interview)
  • Respond correctly in English (check by phone)
  • Employment assessment test (online test)
Training Programs
  • Basic networking training (one to two months) is provided at no cost if you have no prior experience.
  • You are required to pass the Cisco CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) exam during the training program. The cost of first exam is covered by Cybernation.
  • English conversation training is provided at a partner school to improve English language proficiency. The cost is covered partially by Cybernation.
Employment Types
Permanent and contract employment on a six-month probationary period

Salary
Annual salary: Three million yen or higher based on experience, skills, and age (monthly salary of ¥250,000 or higher x 12 months, Two-thirds of the monthly salary during the training period)
Bonus: None
Salary increase: Once a year (in June) based on experience, skills, and age
Working Hours
Shift work, rotated on a monthly basis
Examples:
Day shift: 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (One-hour break included)
Night shift: 5:00 p.m. – 9:30 a.m. (Two-hour break included, five to six times per month, non-working day following the night shift)
Overtime: Average of ten hours per month
Time off & Time Away
Two days off per week based on the shift schedule
Year-end and New Year holidays, summer holidays, paid leave of absence, personal leave, etc.
Place of Work
Place of training: Cybernation’s headquarters office in Takadanobaba and an IT school in Shinjuku/Ikebukuro, Tokyo
Regular place of work: Network operation center of a major telecom carrier in Otemachi, Tokyo
Commuting Allowance
Actual commuting expenses is reimbursed to the employees.

〔GICTS〕Process from recruitment – training – start of work

If you wish to join the GICTS Company, please fill out the Global ICT Services Company Application Form.
※Please prepare a CV when applying for the job.
A screening process and interview, English language (Japanese language) proficiency check and a suitability test are used to decide whether the applicant is a good fit or not.
Sign a (provisional) employment contract with us as a probationary employee.
You will attend basic ICT and basic network training / LINUX server training (2 months), either in-house at our company or at an affiliated IT school. After joining the company, you will aim to obtain CCNA certification (basic level) and LPIC_LEVEL1 (beginner level).
The training period may be shortened for operational reasons. In such cases, the trainee will use an external IT school to acquire qualifications while working on the job.
2~3 months of on-site training with major telecom carriers/other clients
※Practical training, under the guidance of field leaders and others
Start working as a bilingual engineer.
※Debut as GICTS staff.
Formal employment contract with the company as a permanent hire from a provisional hire.
※Future GICT service engineer.
